Uniform Policy

General Rules

1.     All Manchester Academy students in grades 2k -1 2th grade must wear school uniforms.  The dress code is YOUR responsibility.

2.     The dress code is strictly enforced.  Any infringement of the uniform dress code will result in the parent being contacted to provide the proper uniform.

3.     Continued infraction of the dress code will result in action taken will be at the discretion of the principal and headmaster.

4.     Please label all clothes.

5.     Certain, specific uniform pieces must be purchased from Zoghby’s Uniforms. Other items, such as footwear, belts, socks, hair accessories, undershirts, etc. may be purchased from any vendor, but must meet the required guidelines.

6.      Wednesday is a DRESS DAY, and the required uniform will be worn every Wednesday.

a.     Grades 5K-3

i.      Girls – Plaid jumper with MA monogrammed, white blouse with navy piping with modesty shorts or bloomers in neutral colors OR plaid, Peter Pan collared dress with monogram with modesty shorts or bloomers in neutral colors underneath.

ii.      Boys – Dark green, MA monogrammed, collared polo with khaki shorts or pants with a traditional button/zipper closure, belt loops, and a belt. Note: 5K boys may wear elastic waist khaki shorts or pants.

b.    Grades 4-12

i.      Girls – Plaid skort or skirt with MA monogrammed white blouse. No shorts or pants.

ii.      Boys - Dark green, MA monogrammed, collared polo with khaki shorts or pants with a traditional button/zipper closure, belt loops, and a belt.

7.     All MA students in grades 5K-12 will wear monogrammed, collared shirts Monday-Thursday.  Collared shirts must be worn under all outerwear – including crewneck sweatshirts, hoodies, quarter/half zip pullovers, and full zip jackets.

8.     For the 2025-2026 school year, acceptable (approved) monograms for uniforms are from the school uniform resale, Zoghby’s Uniforms, or The Mav Store only. Other monograms will not be allowed. 

9.    Fridays are Spirit Days – any MA tee shirt may be worn, including polos from The Mav Store.

10. For grades 5K-12, all shirts must be tucked in except girls’ shirts/over blouses.

11. Bloomers or modesty shorts in neutral colors must be worn under all dresses and skirts.

12. Leggings or tights may be worn in grey, white, or black.

13. No pins or long necklaces are to be worn on blouses.

14. Belts must be worn with all items with belt loops. Only boys in 2K-5K may wear elastic waist shorts or pants.

15. Students will be required to wear uniforms on all field trips unless the teacher has received prior approval from the administration for alternative dress.

16. Boys may wear light/neutral khaki pants or shorts.  No khaki green shade or cargo style pants or shorts.  Boys in grades 2K-5K may wear elastic waist khaki shorts or pants. Boys in grades 1-12 must wear khaki shorts or pants with a traditional, button/zipper closure, belt loops, and a belt.  For boys in grades 7-12, short inseam must be no shorter than 6”

17. Outerwear is not required but, if worn, must be monogrammed appropriately.  If students wear any other type of outerwear, it must be removed before first period class. Otherwise, teachers will confiscate the outerwear until the end of the school day.  Repeated reprimands for incorrect outwear will result in discipline referral to the principal.

18. Dress up/down days for certain themed days will be determined by administration and announced to the student body in advance.

K2-K3-K4 Uniform Requirements

Girls’ Daily Uniform Options

·   Dark green gingham dress with MA monogram with modesty shorts or bloomers in neutral colors underneath.

·   Dark green polo dress with MA monogram with modesty shorts or bloomers in neutral colors underneath.

·   Dark green gingham ruffle short with MA monogrammed Peter Pan polo.

·   *Cheer uniforms, MA tee shirts, or other apparel from The Mav Store may be worn on Spirit Days

·   Leggings or tights may be worn in black, white, or grey.

·   Shoes

o   Tennis shoes with Velcro closure, slip on, or pull-tie laces may be worn every day.

o   Socks must be worn with shoes.

o   Ugg type boots may be worn in winter months.

o   No sandals, flip flops, slippers, Crocs, or open-toed shoes.

o   No cowboy boots.

Boys’ Daily Uniform Options

·   Dark green gingham shorts or pants with elastic waist or khaki elastic waist shorts or pants

·   Dark green or grey MA monogrammed tee

·   *Jerseys, MA tee shirts, or other apparel from The Mav Store may be worn on Spirit Days.

·   Shoes  

o   Tennis shoes with Velcro closure, slip on, or pull-tie laces may be worn every day.

o   Socks must be worn with shoes.

o   No sandals, flip flops, slippers, Crocs, or open-toed shoes

o   No cowboy boots

K5-3rd Grade Uniform Requirements

GIRLS

Wednesday - Dress Day – Chapel - School Picture Day

·   Girls – Plaid jumper with MA monogrammed, white blouse with navy piping with modesty shorts or bloomers in neutral colors OR plaid, Peter Pan collared dress with MA monogram with modesty shorts or bloomers in neutral colors underneath.

Daily Uniform Options

·   Grey, White, Dark Green, or Black collared polo with MA monogram. For the 2025-2026 school year, acceptable (approved) monograms for uniforms are from the school uniform resale, Zoghby’s Uniforms or The Mav Store only.

·   Khaki or plaid skorts/skirts or pants. Skirt/skort/short length is NO MORE THAN 4” ABOVE THE CREASE BEHIND THE KNEE.  

·   Plaid, Peter Pan collar dress with MA monogram with modesty shorts or bloomers in neutral colors underneath.

·   *Cheer uniforms, MA tee shirts, or other apparel from The Mav Store may be worn on Spirit Days.

·   Leggings or tights may be worn in black, white, or grey.

·   Shoes

o   Tennis shoes may be worn every day.

o   Flat heel shoes only

o   Ugg type boots may be worn in winter months.

o   Socks must be worn with shoes.

o   No sandals, flip flops, slippers, Crocs, or open-toed shoes.

o   No cowboy boots should be worn with shorts or skirts/skorts.

o   Rain boots are allowed on weather appropriate days.

BOYS

4th - 12th Grade Uniform Requirements

GIRLS

·   MA monogrammed white blouse with plaid skort/skirt with neutral-colored shorts underneath.

·   Grey, white, dark green, or black collared polo with MA monogram.  For the 2025-2026 school year, acceptable (approved) monograms for uniforms are from the school uniform resale, Zoghby’s Uniforms or The Mav Store only.

·   Khaki or plaid skorts/skirts or pants. Skirt/skort length is NO MORE THAN 4” ABOVE THE CREASE BEHIND THE KNEE.

Dress Code for Last Friday of each month (2K-12)

School-wide DRESS DOWN DAY will be the last Friday of every month.  Students may wear any MA t-shirt and jeans or uniform bottoms.

·    Girls may not wear shorts/skorts/skirts that are not uniform shorts.  No holes in jeans and no sports shorts with elastic waistbands, Nike shorts, or Lululemon shorts or skirts/skorts.

·    Boys may not wear athletic shorts or jeans with holes.


The administration of Manchester Academy reserves the right to adjust this policy and make decisions on future modes of dress not outlined in the dress code that would distract from the educational process.
